COVID-19 Lockdown: Trading In Cuttack Malgodown To Be Done In Two Shifts

Cuttack: For effective social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus, trading in the Malgodown here will be done in two shifts from Tuesday.

Briefing mediapersons here on Monday, general secretary of Cuttack Chambers of Commerce, Prafulla Chhatoi said that the decision was taken to avoid large gatherings.

“The retail trading will be held from 6 am to 2 pm while the wholesale trading will begin at 12 pm and continue as long as the wholesalers complete their trading,” he said.

To a question on the possibility of the shortage of edible items due to the lockdown, Chhatoi said that the Malgodown has adequate stock for 20-25 days.

“There will be no shortage of the edible items in Odisha since the state government has assured free flow of essential commodities during the lockdown period,” he added.
