Berhampur: The COVID-19 situation in Ganjam district during August will be crucial, Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said on Thursday.
The collector said due to more testing, the number of positive cases in the district has seen a gradual decline. Despite the encouraging trend, the people in the district have to remain more careful and strictly adhere to COVID-19 guidelines as this month is most likely to be more challenging, he added.
Warning that the administration will take legal action for violation of COVID-19 guidelines, Kulange said that the district will remain shut down from 4 pm to 5 am every day along with two-day weekly shutdowns in August.
He also requested the people to voluntarily come forward for COVID-19 test if they have any flu-like symptoms.
