COVID-19 Surge: NTA Postpones JEE Main For April Session

Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday postponed the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main -2021 for the April session due to the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases across the country.

As per an NTA notification, the JEE (Main) April Session that was scheduled for April 27, 28 and 30 has been postponed by taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries.

However, it said that the revised dates for the examinations for the April session will be announced later. The new dates will be announced at least 15 days prior to the exam.

The NTA has advised the candidates to use this time to prepare themselves better for the examination. They can also take practice (full length/chapter wise) tests on the NTA Abhyas App from the comfort of their homes.

Besides, the candidates are also advised to keep visiting the official websites of NTA www.nta.ac.in and https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ for the latest updates.

In a Twitter post, Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said he has advised the NTA Director General to postpone the JEE April session examination.


In an effort to support the student community, NTA is organizing the JEE (Main) 2021 in four sessions of which two sessions have already been completed in February (Session 1: from February 23 to 26) and March (Session 2: from March 16 to 18).

While 620978 candidates have appeared in Session-1, 556248 have appeared in Session-2.
