COVID-19 Suspect Who Fled From MKCG MCH Berhampur, Tests Negative

Berhampur: The patient who was admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MCH) on Saturday has tested negative for the deadly Coronavirus. However, the native of Krushnaprasad fled from the hospital before his reports arrived.

Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange confirmed that the patient has tested negative of COVID-19. “No one in Ganjam district has tested positive for Coronavirus. We are taking all precautions and all our line agencies are on alert,” added Kulange.

The patient had developed flu-like symptoms after which he was admitted to the isolation ward of MKCG MCH on Saturday evening. On Sunday afternoon, he was found missing from the hospital. The matter was also reported to the local police, sources added.

The patient’s reports, which arrived in the evening revealed that he had not contracted Coronavirus infection.

Meanwhile, the district administration has imposed Section 144 in Ganjam district in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
