Kendrapada: Jiral pada under Tikanpur Gram Panchayat of Garadpur Block in Kendrapada district was declared as a containment zone for seven days on Monday after one person tested positive for COVID-19.
Following this, Anganwadi workers, including Garadpur Block Development Officer (BDO) Ranjit Kumar Mallick, a tehsildar Dharandidhar Behera, a medical team, and Asha activists reached the spot and sent the patient to Kendrapada COVID hospital.
Panic gripped the residents as the patient was engaged in various types of electrical work at home. He was suffering from cough and cold. Contact tracing is underway.
