COVID-19 Update: Two Contacts Of 4th Patient From Bhadrak Test Positive

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday informed that 1395 samples were tested for COVID-19 till 12 pm and the number of positive cases stood at 20.

A total of 1395 samples have been tested in Odisha so far.

The number of positive cases had spiked to 20 from six last night with 15 being detected on a single day. While 14 cases have been reported from Bhubaneswar, one each from Puri, Cuttack and Jajpur and three from Bhadrak have tested positive for the deadly virus.

Among those who have contracted the infection, two persons have recovered and discharged from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and Capital Hospital respectively, where they were undergoing treatment. They both belong to Bhubaneswar.

Of the remaining 18 active cases, one patient is at Capital Hospital, one at AIIMS and 16 at Aswini Hospital, Cuttack.

Of the 42 contacts of the 4th case from Bhadrak, two have tested COVID-19 positive. Similarly of 38 contacts of 5th case from Bhubaneswar, seven have tested positive, according to an official document.

Contact tracing of rest patients is going on, it added.

In addition, 91 persons are under hospital isolation.

Among the returnees from Delhi’s Nizamuddin, 28 persons have been identified in the state. All the test reports have been received and 25 among them have tested negative and three positive (one each from Cuttack, Puri and Jajpur), it further said.
