New Delhi: Serum Institute of India (SII) is expected to sign a contract with the Central government to supply COVID-19 vaccine at Rs 250 per dose, Business Standard reported.
SII, which is the world’s largest vaccine producer, along with Pfizer India have applied for emergency approval of their vaccines in India.
SII CEO Adar Poonawalla had earlier revealed that the vaccine would be priced around Rs 1,000 per dose in the private market. He had also assured that the vaccine would be first supplied to Indians before exporting.
SII is producing the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University.
