COVID 4th Wave Scare: Odisha Keeping Vigil On People Arriving From Delhi, Abroad!
Bhubaneswar: With the COVID positivity rate crossing 7% in Delhi, the Odisha government has directed officials to keep a strict vigil on people arriving in the state from the national capital and foreign countries.
Speaking to mediapersons, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das said a letter has been issued to Additional Health Director and other officials concerned, suggesting a close watch on people arriving from Delhi and abroad. They have also been asked to step up measures at railway stations and airports to curb the spread of the virus amid a rise in cases in Delhi and the possible 4th wave of the pandemic.
“Odisha under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has successfully tackled COVID-19 in the past. All preventive measures are being taken to ensure that the infection does not spread in the coming days,” he said and urged people to remain cautious.
Notably, Odisha saw a slight rise in the daily caseload on Thursday with 18 more people being found infected with the virus in the last 24 hours.
