COVID Caseload Drops Below 500 In Odisha; 43% New Cases From Khurda Alone

Bhubaneswar: The COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 500 on Tuesday as 462 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Among them, 70 are in the age group of 0-18 years.

The daily cases count was 510 on Monday, 623 on Saturday, 628 on Friday, 580 on Thursday and 457 on Wednesday.

According to the I & PR department, 268 of the new infections are from quarantine and 194 local contacts. Almost 43.5 per cent of these cases are from Khurda (201).  Boudh, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur have reported nil cases.

Besides, 43 are from the state pool.

With these cases detected from 57,135 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.80 per cent.

Odisha now has 5351 active cases and 2351 of them are in Khurda.
