Nuapada: While Sinapali Gram Panchayat has been declared a micro containment zone for four days, National College in Odisha’s Nupada district will remain shut for three days from Thursday after detection of new COVID-19 cases.
“It was necessary to break the chain,” said Nuapada Collector Swadha Dev Singh.
On the other hand, the principal of National College issued a notice stating that a decision to close the college from April 15 to 17 was taken after two employees — one teaching staff and one non-teaching staff members of the college – tested positive for COVID-19.
Nuapada has been witnessing a spike in daily cases since the last week of March. Another 104 people of the district tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
