Konark: Amidst the coronavirus scare, Puri district administration has imposed Section 144 at Chandrabhaga beach at Konark as a precautionary measure to prevent large gatherings.
A team of police personnel headed by the Konark inspector-in-charge and Gop tehsildar were seen patrolling the beach and driving away tourists from the spot on Tuesday.
Earlier, the district administration had instructed tourists to vacate the Puri beach.
Temporary shops on the beach have been closed and tourists have been advised to stay inside their hotels. The pilgrim town has become completely deserted because of the pandemic.
