A hostel at XIMB in Odisha capital was declared a micro-containment zone on Saturday after 30 students tested positive for COVID.

Amid the spiralling cases, the state government has ordered for closure of all educational institutions (colleges, varsity and technical institutes) from January 10.

“All Colleges/ Universities/ Technical Educational Institutions under the superintendence of Government of Odisha shall remain closed with effect from 10th January 2022,” the notification stated.

However, medical colleges, nursing colleges and institutions under Health and Family Welfare Department will remain open, it said, adding that all ongoing offline examinations will continue with compliance to COVID appropriate behaviour.
