Covishield Gap Reduced For These People In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The gap between Covishield doses will be reduced for those travelling abroad for treatment or foreign nationals who have to return to their country, the Odisha health department informed on Thursday.
The 2nd dose of the vaccine was earlier administered prior to the prescribed interval (after 28 days, but before 84 days) to persons intending to undertake international travel for education purposes, for joining employment in a foreign country and for India’s contingent to Tokyo Olympics.
Now, it is applicable to any circumstances in which such foreign travel may be unavoidable.
“ln such cases, the concerned individual will have to produce a copy of travel documents such as visa or confirmed tickets, along with any such other documents that may justify the urgency for undertaking the travel,” Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra wrote in a letter to the authorities concerened.
The feature for providing on-site 2nd dose vaccination to such beneficiaries at government COVID vaccination centres already exists in Co-WlN, he added.
