Odisha: Twin City Commissionerate Police on Thursday warned denizens of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack of strict action for any violation of the COVID-19 guidelines during the Raja festival.

Commissioner of Police (CP) SK Priyadarshi said that shops found breaking the rules will be sealed and businessmen may face arrest.

“A special drive will be launched from today to curb the violations,” he said.

The CP further said patrolling will be intensified in the two cities ahead of the festival.

He also urged the denizens to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines and sought their support in the fight against the pandemic.

The three-day Raja festival will be celebrated from June 14 across the state.

Notably, people were found breaking the COVID guidelines at many places in the twin cities before Savitri Brata.
