Bhawanipatna:  For all those cricket crazy youngsters who aspire to be Kohli, Dhoni or Gambhir of the future, here is an application, called CricDost. Kalahandi’s Junagarh based software professional Jit Goel (45), Chief executive officer of XCEL Corp, New Jersey (USA)/Chennai has developed  the app.

The app is a talent hunt platform for young cricketers who have to register themselves and can immediately connect to the nearest as well as distant players.
Once they register, they can download and choose to play matches after connecting with each other.

The players can upload audio and video, images related to cricket and create a team and play tournaments in their region.

The app will keep track of their playing activities, which could then promote the players’ profile using state-of-the -art next generation technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, Big data analysis etc.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday at Bhawanpatna, Jit Goel said, “hidden talent will get an opportunity to showcase their prowess and dreams to play cricket for India, IPL, under 19 and other prestigious tournaments will be fulfilled. The best players will be scrutinised after consulting with experienced players. Apart from cricket, the company is trying to develop apps for hunting talented people in other fields too.”

Jit has also developed a website called MoSchoolAbhiyan.com which would connect the schools of Kalahandi and its alumni, students and administrative
authorities.

To begin with, he has adopted Junagarh High School, BM high school of Bhawanipatna and Thuamul Rampur High School. All the schools will share their information on the website.

Jit said that distance education and training through video conferencing, improvement of the school infrastructure, inter-school exchange programme and alumni contributions would create world class citizens.

Apart from that, the software company is giving employment opportunities too.

The Director of NY Institute (Chennai), Asha Jain, whose parent company is XCEL Corp, said there are 95 per cent of the engineering graduates in the market are not
qualified to get a job due to skill gap.

“Those who are fresh B.Tech graduates and trying to get a job would be given sixty days training programme. They would definitely get a job through this platform,” she said.
