Bhubaneswar: The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on Tuesday announced launch of two new services including Hop-On Hop-Off buses in Bhubaneswar.
The CRUT will provide Double-Decker Express Bus service on two routes in Bhubaneswar from Wednesday. The double-decker bus will run on DD 1 route from Baramunda BSABT to Sea Beach in Puri. It will go via Puri bypass and Jagannath Ballav Parking in Puri before reaching the sea beach.
The buses will leave BSABT at 6 am, 7 am, 3 pm and 4 pm. On the return route, the buses will leave Puri sea beach at 8.40 am, 9.40 am, 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm. The fares range from Rs 30 to Rs 170.
On the second route, DD 2, the double-decker bus will run from Biju Patnaik International Airport in the city to the new bus stand in Khurda. It will go through AG Square, Bhubaneswar railway station, Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Iskcon Temple, BSABT, Khandagiri Square, Barunei Pitha square before reaching Khurda new bus stand.
The Hop-On Hop-Off buses will cover key tourist destinations in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, offering a convenient and flexible mode of travel. This service is designed to allow visitors to explore the city at their own pace while experiencing its rich cultural and historical heritage.
The buses will run on 1-H, 2-H and 3-H routes. The buses on all the three routes will start from Bhubaneswar railway station and end there after going around the city.
The HOHO bus service will offer a one-day pass priced at Rs 200, allowing unlimited travel on any route within the HOHO network.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the electric double-decker buses and HOHO buses in Bhubaneswar. He flagged off five electric double-decker buses and 10 HOHO buses at the Mo Bus depot at Gadakana in the city.
