Cuttack Youth Booked Over ‘Offensive’ Facebook Post On Goddess Durga
Cuttack: Police sprung into action after an alleged hateful content against goddess Durga surfaced on Facebook and booked a youth of Odisha’s Cuttack.
According to sources, BJP’s Cuttack unit has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Cantonment Police. Acting on the complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 153(A), 292(A), 295(A), 505, 120(B) of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act.
“Some miscreant groups and antisocial elements are mischievously posting hateful messages over social media affecting religious harmony. Stringent legal action will be taken against this culprit and the miscreants who are liking and sharing this offensive postings. Citizens are requested to maintain social harmony and peace,” tweeted Cuttack DCP.
