Bhubaneswar: Have no clue whom to approach after being tricked by an unknown caller and falling prey to a cyber fraud? Well, the Commissionerate Police has come to your rescue.

On Thursday, the CP launched a help desk to curb cyber crimes. To receive complaints from people, a helpline number 7440006709 has been issued.

Talking to media, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said the help desk of the special squad will be manned by one Sub-Inspector and seven constables.

He said those who are victims of cyber fraud should inform the help desk within one hour to enable police trace the caller and deactivate his/her SIM card. “Apart from this, if the fraud has managed to withdraw cash from the account of any person, we will be able to trace the location from where the cash is withdrawn and act immediately,” he added.

Sarangi further added women being harassed by ghost callers can also inform the help desk.
