Bhubaneswar: In view of Cyclone Gulab making landfall at midnight on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert for seven districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
In its 2 pm bulletin, the Met office said that heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls at one or two places very likely to occur in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
Orange warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh and Kandhamal districts
Similarly, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir and Nuapada are likely to experience heavy showers during this period.
