Cyclone Yaas: Man Dies After Tree Branch Falls On Him In Odisha’s Keonjhar
Keonjhar: Rain accompanied by strong winds due to Cyclone Yaas claimed the life of a man after a tree branch fell on him at Panchukulli village under Ghashipura police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Purnachandra Nayak.
According to sources, the incident took place when Nayak was returning home after performing puja in a nearby mutt. A branch of a banyan tree fell on his head. The locals rescued him and got him admitted to a hospital in Anandpur, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Notably, the landfall started around 9 am between north of Dhamra and south of Balasore close to Bahanaga block coast. “It will continue for 3-4 hours. The maximum impact will be in Balasore and Bhadrak till 3 pm.” Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena informed.
