Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha is experiencing an increase in the intensity of rain, two cyclonic circulations merged over westcentral and northwest Bay of Bengal on Tuesday.
The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department has issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall in some parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal during the next 24 hours.
The intensity of rain is likely to increase further with extreme spells at some places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri and Khurda during the next 24 hours. Heavy rainfall is also likely at some places in Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh during the same duration.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati the following day. The MeT office has issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nuapada, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh on October 6.
There will be a decrease in the intensity of rainfall thereafter, it added.
