Ahead of the general elections, the Centre on Tuesday hiked the dearness allowance of both the government employees and pensioners by three per cent.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cabinet on Tuesday cleared the proposal, a move that will benefit more than one crore central government employees and pensioners. It will come into effect from January 1, 2019.
