Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 234 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.
It is for the second consecutive day that the state has reported over 200 fresh infections. After a gap of almost two months, the infected number had risen to 214 on Thursday.
On January 14, 222 people were found infected with the virus and thereafter the state had witnessed a downward trend in new cases.
According to the I & PR Department, fresh cases have been reported from 23 districts. While 139 are from quarantine, 95 local contact cases.
Nuapada district has recorded the highest of 33 cases, followed by Khurda (32), Cuttack (29), Bargarh (24), and Kalahandi (17).

With this, the affected tally in Odisha has touched 339694. While 336409 have recovered from the infection, the number of active cases stand at 1313.
