Bhubaneswar: After a gap of five days, the daily COVID caseload dropped below 500 in Odisha with 448 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 652 positive cases on Sunday, 526 on Saturday, 524 on Friday, 582 on Thursday, 593 on Wednesday and 453 on Tuesday.
Among the news cases, 59 (13.16 per cent) are in the age group of 0-18 years.
According to the I & PR department, 259 are from quarantine and 189 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 208 cases followed by Cuttack at 48. Three districts reported nil cases.

With these cases detected from 63,887 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.70%. The TPR was 0.97% on Sunday, 0.76% on Saturday, 0.78% on Friday, 0.75% on Thursday, 0.82% on Wednesday and 0.77% on Tuesday.
While the affected tally in the state has touched 10,32,144, Odisha now has 5,087 active cases.
