Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a marginal rise in daily COVID cases on Wednesday with 593 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours. The number of new infections reported on Tuesday was 453.
Of the new cases, 80 (13.49%) are below 18 years of age.
The state had seen 407 new infections on Monday, and 528 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, 346 of the new cases are from quarantine and 247 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest 290 cases followed by Cuttack at 84. Eight districts reported nil cases.

With these cases being detected from 71,749 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.82%. The TPR was 0.77% on Tuesday, 0.62% on Monday, and 0.76 % on Sunday.
Odisha now has 4,967 active cases while the affected tally had touched 1029412.
