Khunta: Protesting delay in probe into the death of a Plus II student, a 12-hour bandh was observed in Khunta area of Mayurbhanj district by the local tribal student’s association on Friday.
Shops, markets and other commercial establishments downed their shutters while vehicles stayed off the road in response to the strike.
Many social organisations and auto association members also extended their support to the bandh.
“We condemn the inaction of police in revealing the cause of the suspicious death of Plus II student Animesh Das whose body was found from a private coaching centre at Udala on November 19. A judicial probe should be conducted so that the victim’s family members get justice”, an agitator said.
