New Delhi: Heads have started rolling following the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
A day after a man, posing as a complainant, slapped the CM and pulled her hair during a public grievance hearing at her Civil Lines residence, the top cop of the national capital was removed.
Satish Golcha was appointed Delhi Police Commissioner on Thursday, replacing SBK Singh.
Golcha, a 1992-batch IPS officer, is currently the Director General of Tihar Jail. He has held several important positions, including Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Special Commissioner (Intelligence) in Delhi Police and Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh.
Golcha has also served as the DCP and Joint CP in Delhi Police.
SBK Singh’s tenure as Delhi’s top cop lasted just three weeks.
A 1988 batch officer from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories) cadre, Singh is the Director General of Home Guards who was given additional charge as Delhi Commissioner. He had taken charge on August 1 only.
