New Delhi: The day-to-day hearings of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case will begin on July 25 if mediation fails.
The Supreme Court, while hearing a petition to list the case for hearing ‘at the earliest’, on Thursday sought a progress report from the mediation panel by July 18 and said that it will begin hearing from July 25 if mediation fails or is found infeasible.
In March, the court had appointed a panel of mediators, including former SC judge F.M.I. Kalifulla as Chairman, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and senior Madras High Court advocate Sriram Panchu.
On May 10, a five-judge Bench led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi granted the committee time till August 15 to find a reasonable solution to the dispute.
