Deal With Cyber Crime Cases On Priority Basis: DGP To Police Officers
Bhubaneswar: Ample use of latest technologies is necessary to tackle increasing number of cyber crimes, said Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma.
Inaugurating the 60th Senior Police Officers’ Conference at Police Bhawan here on Tuesday, Sharma said, “Cyber crime has become a threat to everyone. So, there is an urgent need to deal with such cases on priority basis and use latest technologies to solve the same effectively.”
At the meeting, the DGP placed special emphasis on capacity building of police stations, people-friendly policing and tackling Maoism.
Senior officials from Fire Services department, Civil Defence Organisation, Vigilance, Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation and Odisha Human Rights Protection Cell (OHRPC) will participate in the three-day conference.
The conference, which is being organised after a gap of two years, will throw light on significant issues like maintenance of law and order, crime scenario and its prevention measures.
