Delhi BJP Chief Hospitalised Days After Taking Dip In Toxic Yamuna
Delhi: About two days after taking a dip in the heavily polluted Yamuna river, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva was hospitalised on Saturday. He complained of breathing difficulty and skin rashes.
He was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, reports claimed.
According to previous reports, he was examined by the doctors at the RML hospital who had prescribed him medicines for three days.
As a mark of protest, the BJP leader on Thursday took a dip in the Yamuna. He had slammed the former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over his alleged “failure” to fulfil his promise of cleaning the river by 2025.
While taking the dip in the river, he had also “sought forgiveness” for the “corruption” of the Delhi government, reported the PTI. He had alleged that the AAP government had looted funds meant for cleaning the river.
He also vowed setting up of a Yamuna Cleaning Authority if the BJP is voted to power in Delhi. He had also challenged Kejriwal to take a dip in the river.
Ahead of the Chhath festival, the ruling AAP in Delhi and the BJP had been slugging it out over heavy pollution and toxic froth in the river.
