Delhi Doctors Arrested As CBI Busts Corruption Racket At Central Govt Hospital
New Delhi: Two doctors were among nine people arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday after busting a major corruption racket at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital here.
The arrested doctors have been identified as Parvathgouda, Assistant Professor of Cardiology Department and Ajay Raj, Professor of Cardiology Department at RML Hospital.
Rajnish Kumar, who has also been nabbed, worked at the Central government-run hospital as a senior lab in-charge.
Those arrested are accused of taking bribes from patients and medical representatives.
Both doctors were allegedly caught taking bribes.
The corruption was taking place through five modules, reported India Today.
They are — supply of stents and other medical needs, supply of a particular brand of stent, supply of medical equipment in labs, admission of patients in exchange for bribe and issuance of fake medical certificates.
