Delhi-NCR Jolted By Tremors Hours After Afghanistan Earthquake

New Delhi: Hours after a powerful earthquake hit Afghanistan, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) felt strong tremors on Sunday afternoon.

The estimated magnitude of Sunday’s earthquake that jolted Delhi and neighbouring areas was 3.1, which occurred at 4.08pm.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, an earthquake measuring 3.1 jolted Delhi and neighbouring areas at 4.08 pm.

The earthquake originated at Haryana’s Faridabad was at a depth of 10 km. The epicentre of the quake was 9 kilometres east of Faridabad and 30 kilometres south-east of Delhi.

India’s Capital and its neighbouring areas had felt similar jolts on October 3, when an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 originated in Nepal at a depth of 5 km.
