New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder Arvind Kejriwal on Friday appealed to Delhi voters to choose him over BJP if they wanted their electricity and water bills to be waived off.
During a rally in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri, Kejriwal reminded voters about the huge electricity bills that people have to pay in states where BJP was in power.
“If you (people of Delhi) vote for BJP, then you will face power cuts once again. Ask people in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar where people have to power cuts for 8-10 hours. Besides, electricity is free in Delhi, but it is very costly in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar,” Kejriwal was quoted as saying by PTI.
“Some people are getting increased water bills, you don’t worry, vote for me and make me the chief minister, I will waive off all your water bills,” he added.
Ahead of Delhi elections in February, Kejriwal, who resigned as chief minister last month, has started focusing on Delhi polls.
On Thursday, Kejriwal had warned voters in Moti Nagar of power cuts if BJP comes to power.
Earlier, on October 19, Kejriwal attacked BJP saying that the party won’t do any work for the Delhiites if it comes to power.
“Do not care for who is there (in the elections) because Kejriwal will be fighting on all these 70 seats. I will get your work done no matter who is elected as an MLA,” Kejriwal said in Pitampura.
