Deloitte Capability Enhancement Centre To Be Inaugurated In Bhubaneswar Today

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the capability enhancement centre of leading global audit, consulting and financial advisory firm Deloitte at BMC-ICOMC Tower in Odisha capital on Friday.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and state IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera will also be attending the programme.

Naveen tweeted that the centre will create huge job opportunities for the youth of the state. The company has rented a whopping 40,000 sq ft area in the tower to start its operation and is expected to recruit 15,000 people in various positions, including auditing, assurance, consultancy, knowledge and other professional services to work in three shifts on the five floors of the building, sources said.

Notably, Deloitte India chairperson Atul Dhawan attended the Make in Odisha conclave last month while Naveen met its Managing Director N Venkatram in Hyderabad in October last year, showcasing Odisha as an attractive destination for industries with class-leading infrastructure and policy initiatives.

In August last year, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and IT Secretary Manoj Mishra visited the BMC Tower for timely completion of the work required to have a new development centre of Deloitte, which is the first global brand to open its office in Bhubaneswar after the new IT Policy 2022. The Chief Secretary also visited the new 12-storeyed building at Janpath last month to review the progress in work.

Smart City and BMC offices will also function from the tower, sources added.
