Dense Fog Continues In Bhubaneswar, Cuttack; 2 Places In Odisha Record Below Normal Night Temp

Bhubaneswar: A thick blanket of fog engulfed Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Monday morning.

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also recoded above normal temperature of 19.7 and 19.2 degree Celsius, respectively.

Dense fog was also seen in Nayagarh, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Gopalpur, restricting visibility to 50-200 metres, according to the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Balasore, Paradip, Koraput and Bhawanipatna also witnessed shallow to moderate fog this morning. G Udayagiri in Kandhamal was the coldest in the state at 10 degree Celsius, followed by Koraput at 10.7 degree Celsius, which was 4 degree below normal, and Kirei in Sundargarh at 10.8 degree Celsius. Phulbani and Daringbadi in Kandhamal recorded 12 degree Celsius each. Angul at 13 degree Celsius was the only other place which recorded 2.5 below normal temperature.

Dense fog warning continues for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda, and Puri districts till 8.30 am on Tuesday. There is also a forecast for light rain at some places in the state from Tuesday. There will be no large change in the night temperature during next 4-5 days, the weather agency added.
