Bhubaneswar: While the night temperature at most parts in Odisha marginally went up in the last 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued dense fog warning for 11 districts of Odisha.
Duty officer of Meteorological Centre, Sudhakar Mallick said that the IMD has issued yellow warning for dense fog at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack and Bhadrak districts in the next 24 hours on Thursday and Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Puri, Koraput and Balangir in the subsequent 24 hours on Friday.
He said that the IMD has also forecast shallow to moderate fog in the state for two more days on January 18 and 19.
Mallick further said that the night temperature in Odisha will rise by 2-4 degree Celsius due to blowing of the south-westerly wind under the influence of a cyclonic circulation which lies over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar.
According to the morning bulletin of the IMD on Wednesday, the night temperature recorded in the last 24 hours was lowest in Sonepur at 7.4 degree Celsius while temperature remained below 10 degree Celsius in Daringbadi (9), Titlagarh (9.1) and Angul (9.6).
