Devotees To Miss Out Nagarjuna Besha Of Lord Jagannath In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: In view of the COVID-19 situation, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to conduct the Nagarjuna Besha of the Lords, scheduled on November 27, in the absence of the devotees.

The temple administration took the decision after a virtual meeting of the Chhattisha Nijog and Ritual sub-committee on Thursday evening. The meeting was attended by SJTA chief administrator Krishan Kumar, Chhattisha Nijog chief Janardan Pattajoshi, administrator (ritual) Jitendra Kumar Sahu, administrator (development) Ajay Kumar Jena, Bhitarachhu sevayats and members of the temple managing committee.

The meeting also fixed the schedule of the rituals for Nagarjuna Besha. They are:

Dwaraphita- 2 am
Bhitarashodha- 2.20 am
Mangala Alati- 2.30 am
Mailama Lagi- 3 am
Tadapa Lagi-3.30 am
Abakasha Niti- 3.50 am
Mailama Lagi and Nagarjuna Besha- 4 am
Rosa Homa- 4.30 am
Surya Puja- 5 am
Dwarapala Puja- 5.15 am
Nagarjuna Besha Sesha- 7 am
Gopala Ballava Niti- 8 am
Sakala Dhupa and Bhoga Mandapa- 10.30 am
