Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav Feb 7-9, To Spread Message Of Peace Through Culture
Bhubaneswar: Like every year, the Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav, slated to be held from February 7-9 promises to be a melange of culture and faith. Hosted jointly by the State Tourism Department and Odisha Dance Academy at the foothills of Shanti Stupa, it sends forth the message of peace through an array of performing and classical art performances.
The festival started in 2003 as two independent festivals, which were brought under one umbrella in 2011 and came to be known as Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav. Art Vision, Bhubaneswar is associated in the selection and co-ordination of martial arts in the Kalinga component.
During the three day festival, Dhauli Shanti Stupa or Peace Pagoda transforms itself under the star lit skies and artistic brilliance of the performers leaving the audience with memories to savour for days to come.
Dhauli Mahotsav is intended to permeate the gospel of peace through concerts of classical and folk dances and music of India by synthesising religions and faiths. Kalinga Mahotsav on the other hand, sends the message of peace through martial arts from across the country and abroad.
