Washington DC: As Donald Trump, officials of the US administration and mediapersons tried to come to terms with the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner at Washington DC on Saturday night, a comment made by the White House Press Secretary has attracted attention and gone viral.
In the viral video, Karoline Leavitt can be heard saying, “Shots will be fired tonight”.
“He is ready to rumble, I will tell you. This speech tonight will be classic Donald J Trump. It’ll be funny, it’ll be entertaining. There will be some shots fired tonight in the room. So everyone should tune in, it’s going to be really great. I’m looking forward to hearing it,” Leavitt told Fox News before the event started.
When the interviewer suggested that Leavitt had written most of it, she said, “I can’t take credit. In true Donald Trump fashion, he puts pen to paper, it’s largely in his own words.”

Little did Leavitt know what was to unfold shortly afterwards.
Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old educator from California, charged a security checkpoint armed with multiple weapons, and opened fire at a Secret Service agent, triggering a major security scare at the high-profile event.
The alleged gunman was quickly taken down and arrested.
Leavitt most probably used the phrase as a verbal political jab. But as the video clip went viral, there were interesting reactions on social media.
“Listen closely to Karoline Leavitt. She predicted the shooting right before it happened. How did she know??” posted one X handle.
“Coincidence, I’m sure,” expressed another person.
“I am from the future, and I tell you there were shots fired!” read another reaction.
There was some chatter about whether the shooting incident was arranged deliberately for political leverage.
