Bhubaneswar: Yes, you read it right. Post BS6 emission norms, most manufacturers have stopped making smaller diesel engines as they are unviable. Maruti and Volkswagen, for example, have stopped selling diesel cars altogether.
At present, the only diesel hatchbacks on sale are Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Altroz and Ford Figo – Freestyle twins.
However, there are a few diesel hatchbacks coming. Hyundai i20’s diesel will be launched soon.
