Bhubaneswar: Direct flight service between Bhubaneswar and Abu Dhabi under the Building Management of Aviation Assets and Network (B-MAAN) initiative is set to begin from Thursday.
IndiGo will operate these direct flights to the Gulf thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. This service will help enhance international connectivity and boost tourism and trade.
According to IndiGo’s website, the non-stop flight will depart from Bhubaneswar at 9.35 am IST and land in Abu Dhabi at 12.35 pm local time. The return flight will leave Abu Dhabi at 2.35 am local time, reaching Bhubaneswar by 8.35 am IST. The flight duration will be of about 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Introductory one-way fares start at Rs 12,685 from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi, with return tickets at Rs 16,132. Fares may vary based on demand and availability, and bookings for the initial flights are reportedly in high demand.
With this, Bhubaneswar will be connected to four international destinations: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Singapore, and Bangkok. The Biju Patnaik International Airport here currently operates flights to 20 Indian cities. In January, the city got connected with Indore, Dehradun, Lucknow, Jaipur and Kochi.
