Cuttack: With Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer (AHPGIC) deciding not to admit patients amid rise in COVID-19 infections, cancer patients are being treated under a tree on the hospital premises.
As more patients were detected from the previous contacts of positive cases at AHPGIC, several crucial departments of the hospital including surgery, chemotherapy, emergency, ICU and pain and palliative care have now been closed.
Patients were witnessed sitting under the trees and the doctors treating them there maintaining social distance. Even the doctors were seen writing prescriptions at the vehicle parking lot.
At least 120 persons including patients, attendants and staff of AHPGIC have tested positive for COVID-19.
