Cancer Hospital Turns COVID-19 Hotbed In Cuttack City With Total 137 Cases; Tally Nears 300

Cuttack: The COVID-19 tally in the Millennium City touched 291 on Tuesday with 27 more persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Among these, 17 patients are previous contacts of positive cases detected at Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer, official sources said.

On July 12, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Ananya Das had told the media that 120 of total 248 positive cases in the city till then were reported from a single source, a Ganjam native patient at AHPGIC.

With 17 more patients and attendants testing positive for the virus, the single-source cancer hospital tally has now mounted to 137.

Among the other cases reported in the last 24 hours, four were in-home quarantine and the remaining three local contacts.
