Bhubaneswar: After a lot of confusion, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) on Thursday confirmed ace sprinter Dutee Chand’s participation in the IAAF World Championships at Doha, beginning September 27.
The AFI through it official handle said that it had communicated about her participation in women’s 100m to IAAF late Wednesday evening.

On Monday (September 9), the IAF selection committee picked a 25-member national team, including 16 men and nine women, for the Championships to be held in Doha, Qatar, from September 27 to October 6. It had approved the names of sprinters Dutee Chand (100m women), Archana Suseentran (200m women) and high jumper Tejaswin Shankar subject to invitation from IAAF based on their world rankings.

Though Dutee had tweeted about being selected in the national team for the championships on Tuesday (September 10), there was no confirmation from AFI on it till today (September 12).
