Domain Booked 2 Days Before Khalistani Separatist Pannun Sent Threat Mail! Odisha STF Seeks Info From Google

Bhubaneswar: Days after Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun threatened to disrupt DGP-IGP Conference in Bhubaneswar, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has written to Google, seeking IP address used for sending an email and audio message to a senior journalist here.

According to sources, the domain Pannun used was booked just two days before he sent the threat mail.

Sources further said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) may also over the investigation into the alleged threat.

The 3-day pan-India event, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and top security officials, ended on Sunday.

Odisha had ramped up its security following the threat by the US-based pro-Khalistani terrorist. A Crime Branch’s cyber cell on November 30 visited a journalist to whom the message was sent. The Commissionerate Police also formed a special surveillance team to investigate the threat messages.

In an audio message sent in the email, the Pro-Khalistani leader declared December 1 as D-Day and warned people of Odisha against flying to and from Biju Patnaik International Airport here. He also asked Khalistani, Naxals, Maoists, Kashmiris to target DGP ‘terror’ conference at Lok Seva Bhawan. Pannun, who heads the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) outfit, announced Rs 25 lakh cash reward for raising Khalistani flag in Bhubaneswar during the event.

On November 28, Pannun had dared the PM, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to visit Ram Mandir here to meet devotees and urged “Naxals, Maoists, Kashmiri fighters” to disguise and take cover in temples, hotels in the city, prompting Odisha Police to re-evaluate security arrangements.
