San Francisco: Ever since Elon Musk’s $44 billion takeover deal of Twitter was announced, employees have been worried about their future.
CEO Parag Agrawal has had to ward off ward off constant queries, saying that there will be no job cuts or layoffs as of now.
However, Reuters recently quoted sources as saying that Musk has already lined up a new Chief Executive for Twitter, who will be replacing Agrawal once the sale deal is completed later this year.
Musk had, after all, hinted at restructuring the microblogging site when he told Twitter’s chairman Bret Taylor last month that he does not have confidence in the company’s management.
However, Agrawal — who replaced Jack Dorsey as CEO in November 2021 — is more worried about the future of the company rather than keeping his job.
As a user wrote that he felt for Agrawal and worried about his uncertain future, the CEO replied: “Thank you but don’t feel for me. What matters most is the service and the people improving it.”
Earlier, when another user wondered whether Agrawal was being fired, he responded: “Nope! We’re still here.”
Agrawal said that he accepted the job to change Twitter for the better, course correct where needed and strengthen the service.
