Mumbai: Amid unverified but viral claims that Palaash Muchha cheated on Smriti Mandhana, the music composer’s cousin Neeti Tak has urged the public to refrain from making assumptions regarding his relationship with the cricketer.
“Palaash is going through a critical condition today. You should all judge Palaash as wrong without knowing the truth. Technology today has come much ahead of humans. That is why people should not judge Palaash in the face of rumours… pray for him,” wrote Neeti Tak in an Instagram story post.
The rumour mill has been in overdrive after their wedding, scheduled for November 23 in her hometown of Sangli in Maharashtra, was halted just hours before the ceremony as Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, developed heart attack‑like symptoms and her close friend and team India cricketer Radha Yadav unfollowed the musician on Instagram.
Smriti has also deleted all wedding-related visuals from her social media, including the viral engagement announcement reel that exploded on the internet. Several teammates also removed the reel from their profiles, fuelling further rumours about the couple and their relationship.
The new twist came after an Instagram user named Mary D’Costa shared screenshots on Reddit alleging that they are her private chats with Palash. Even though the account and its profile picture have been deactivated since then, the screenshots are still being widely shared across social media.
