New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi has criticised the newly formed BJP government at the national capital for not fulfilling its pre-poll promise of passing the scheme of Rs 2,500 monthly allowance to women at its first cabinet meeting. Atishi shared a video on X in which she accused the BJP of “cheating the Delhi women”. Responding to such allegations, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta asked Atishi not to lecture the new government.
“Let us work. She doesn’t need to tell us everything; she has done what she has to while being in power,” Gupta told reporters, adding that her party had not forgotten its promises.
“The Congress ruled for 15 years and the AAP ruled for 13. Instead of looking at what they did, how can they raise questions on one day of ours?” she asked.

The newly-appointed Delhi CM claimed the AAP’s main problem was with the BJP remembering all their pre-poll commitments. “We will worry about Delhi now, and Delhi will get its rights under the leadership of PM Modi,” she said, while asking Kejriwal to worry for his own party as many people would want to quit now.
“These are the same people who ruled for years, and under their reign, so many incidents of corruption have come to the fore. They are afraid that when the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report is tabled on the first day of the Assembly session, several people’s secrets will be unearthed,” she further added.

During the first cabinet meeting on Thursday, the BJP government in Delhi said it would implement the Centre’s flagship Ayushman Bharat health scheme in the capital. This was one of the key pre-poll promises made by the saffron party. Gupta also stated that her government would table the 14 CAG reports on the performance of the previous AAP-led administration. These reports were allegedly blocked by Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP during their tenure.
