Mumbai: An old video of Parineeti Chopra saying she would “never marry a politician” has resurfaced online at a time when her husband, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, quit Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the BJP with six others.
During promotions for a film with Sidharth Malhotra, Parineeti was asked about celebrities she would consider marrying. After naming a Hollywood actor, when Parineeti was asked about politicians, she had replied, “The problem is I don’t want to marry any politician. There are too many good options but I don’t want to marry any politician ever.”
On what she was looking for in an ideal partner, Parineeti had said, “He should be funny, he should smell good and he should respect me. My love for travel, love for water, the ocean, diving, whatever, and they should just be a self-made person. I love men who have self-worth, who have made their lives themselves.”

Parineeti and Raghav, who first met while studying at the London School of Economics, started dating much later before tying the knot in September 2023.
The couple had an intimate wedding at The Leela Palace, Udaipur.
In October 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Neer.
