Jeypore: The alleged murder of two youths sent shockwaves at Kunduli Hatapada in Odisha’s Koraput district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Govardhana Pandaka and Rajkumar Rudi.
According to sources, Pandaka of Tema village got into an altercation with Rudi and his father, Jogulu, while returning home around 8-8.30 am after watching Ravana Podi at Kunduli the previous night. The father-son duo then thrashed him to death.
The family of the deceased soon reached the spot and attacked the assailant, killing Rudi, to avenge his death.
Police have recovered the bodies for postmortem and an investigation into the incident is underway to ascertain the circumstances, leading to the double murder.
Adequate police force has also been deployed at the spot to maintain law and order and prevent further flare-ups.
